Thames Valley Probation

Thames Valley Probation is one of 35 Probation Trusts in England and Wales.

Together with HM Prison Service, we are part of the National Offender Management Service (NOMS), which comes under the Ministry of Justice. The Rt Hon Kenneth Clarke QC MP is the Minister for Justice and the Minister with responsibility for Probation is Crispin Blunt MP. 

Thames Valley Probation Trust Board oversees the work of Thames Valley Probation and is answerable to the Minister for Justice on performance matters. 
 
The Chairman of the Trust Board, Malcolm Fearn, was appointed in April 2007. The Chief Executive, Gerry Marshall, is also a member of the Board and is a qualified Probation Officer with more than 30 years' service.

Performance

Thames Valley Probation’s recent Offender Management Inspection report (published on July 13, 2010) showed that the trust has scored above average in all three areas inspected: Control: 71% (average score 68%), Help and Change: 69% (average 68%), Compliance and Enforcement 78% (average 75%).
