More than 60% of our 850 staff work directly with offenders.
This includes:

  • Qualified Probation Officers - working directly with offenders
  • Probation Services Officers - assisting the work of probation officers
  • Admin Officers - providing administrative support to probation staff
  • Placement Managers - supervising offenders on Community Orders carrying out (Community Payback) Unpaid work
  • Prison-based probation staff - working to prepare prisoners for their release into the community.


Other staff work in supporting roles such as training, research, information technology, admin & clerical, finance, human resources and communications.
